Crafty Ideas For Bored Kids

by | Sep 19, 2017 | Life

Do your kids get super bored at the weekends? Even though they might be surrounded by toys, books, and have a huge garden to play in, they might still sometimes complain of boredom.

Even if your kids don’t complain of being bored too often, you might want to try and coax them away from their PlayStation, computer, or TV. Thankfully, there is a way to do this! You just need to get them involved in some craft projects. Kids love letting their imagination run wild and getting stuck into things.

So, ready to get crafty? Here are some awesome craft ideas that your kids are sure to love!

Make Your Own Teddy Bear

If you visit your local craft store, you will almost certainly find a kit for making your own teddy bear kit. These are very easy for most kids to do, even ones that have never tried any craft activities before. It’s important to remember that you should supervise them when they are making their teddy, especially if you are using supplies from Glue Guns Direct or sharp scissors. These kits will come with everything you need, you just need to get some additional decorations you want to add to your teddies.

Painted Eggs

Painting eggs is a really nice activity to take part in, especially in the run up to Easter as you can make lots of pretty Easter-themed decorations. All you need to do is hard boil some eggs and buy a selection of paints from your local craft shop. You can then let your kids’ imaginations run wild and leave them to paint their eggs however they please. They might even like the idea of making some scenes from colourful cardboard to place their decorated eggs in.

Homemade Christmas Decorations

Now that we are well into Autumn, you might want to start thinking about Christmas. So, why not suggest to the kids that you make your own decorations this year? This is a great way to add a personal touch to your festivities. The easiest decorations you can make are paper chains. Once you kids get the hang of working with paper, you can work your way up to some more complicated paper designs and decorations.

Make Your Own Snow Globe

If your kids love watching snow globes, they will jump at the idea of making their own! And it’s surprisingly easy as well! All you need is a jam jar. You can then place something in the jar, such as a Lego figure. Add a spoonful of glitter to the jam before you fill up the jar with water. Seal the jar shut so that no water leaks out of it. It’s a good idea to glue the figure to the inside of the lid so that it doesn’t rattle around in the jar when you shake it.

Which project do you want to do with your kids? Whichever you choose, I’m sure they will have loads of fun getting crafty and making things!
