Forge a career in fashion
If fashion is your one and only passion, then why not turn it into your career? What’s the point in wasting your time doing a job you hate, when you could be doing one you love? And by forging yourself a career in fashion, you’d most certainly be making an impact in the world of it. In this venture, first of all you’d have to get your foot in the door by getting yourself an entry level job. Then, you’d have to take the next step and always be seeking to move on to higher positions. One such position is Director of Technical Design, and if you were to look at Belk jobs you’d see that they have a vacancy in this role. And this is what finding success in the fashion industry is all about: keeping your finger on the pulse of all the latest vacancies and subsequently never being afraid to apply for them.
Do good when it comes to fashion
You don’t just have to have a career in the world of fashion to be able to make an impact on it. No, you could just take to doing good in regards to it. Doing good in relation to fashion can comprise of a number of things. It can, for instance, relate to a refusal on your part to play into the hands of fashion companies that treat their staff poorly. Most notably, this means refusing to buy items of clothing that don’t come with the label ‘goods are conflict free’. In a lot of underdeveloped areas in the world, clothing production workers are exploited to slave labour. These workers even comprise of children. And this kind of conflict is created by the people inflicting the exploitation for their own personal gain. So, unless that cute little top is ‘conflict free’, don’t buy it. As stated in this article: only by boycotting clothing that causes conflict will conflict caused by clothing production end.
What doing good in regards to fashion can also mean is giving your old clothes away to those who need it. If you were to do this you would be doing things such as providing items of clothing to charity shops, clothing banks and homeless shelters. And you would always bag up old clothes and provide them to any organisation that actively asks for them.
Whether you forge yourself a career in fashion or simply just do good in regards to it, there are always ways to impact the world of fashion. Whatever route you take is up to you. Just make sure to make as much impact as you can when on it.
