When Friday night hits after a long week at work, you’ll want to go out and have some fun. Usually, that entails a lot of drinking and a horrible hangover the next morning. While it’s fun to go out clubbing from time to time, it can get a bit tiresome every weekend. The problem is, you don’t know what else to do so you just end up doing it anyway. All you need is a few more ideas to help you break that cycle and spend your time, and money, a bit more wisely.

See A Show

There are plenty of great productions touring the country all the time. If you fancy an evening that is a bit more civilized than your usual weekend antics, why not go and see one of them. Whether you’re into drama, musicals, or comedy, there will be something to suit your needs somewhere. Head down to your local theatre and see what they have to offer. Tickets are never that expensive and you won’t be spending loads of money on drinking all night long.

History Walks

This one might not sound like your idea of a wild Friday night out, but trust me, they are great fun. The Jack The Ripper tour in London is a brilliant way to spend an evening learning the history of one of the biggest criminals in history. It also gives you the chance to see some different parts of the city that you might not have been to before. This is just one example, but most cities have plenty of different history walks available.

If you are into the supernatural, you can also find ghost walks that take you to sites that are supposedly haunted and tell you the stories of the ghosts that are there.

Board Games

Board games have seen a huge resurgence in the last couple of years. They aren’t something boring that your grandparents force you to do anymore, now they’re cool. In the wake of this board game revolution, board game cafes have started popping up all over the place. They are great for newcomers because they offer a huge range of games that you can try without having to buy them. They are pretty expensive to buy so you want to try a few out and get a good idea of the kind of games that you like before you start splashing out on your own. When you do have your own, it’s an easy way to organize a night in instead of going out.

See A Band

When you go out clubbing, you’re likely to hear the same rubbish chart hits that you hear every single week, without fail. If you want something a bit more interesting, why not go and see some live music. You can’t beat the atmosphere of seeing a band in the flesh and it’s a great way to discover new bands that you probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.

Try these alternatives to a boozy night out, your body will thank you for it on Saturday morning.
